I am a university professor of creative writing and English, a cultural journalist and a published fiction writer. My publications include 5 articles of peer-reviewed literary criticism, 15 short stories in magazines, more than 60 nationally published newspaper articles, 35 commissioned online reviews and 2 books of fiction. My first book, A Sharp Tooth in the Fur, was named to The Globe and Mail’s Top 100 Books of 2003 and received rave reviews. I have presented or published literary essays in France, Germany, Iceland, India, Sweden, Canada and the US. I worked as an editor at The Fiddlehead, Canada’s oldest literary journal, and for five years at Studies in Canadian Literature. I co-founded the arts magazine QWERTY (now in its tenth year) and its online version qwerte.
